Stuart Harley, director of operations at FBW Group, says: “To succeed in the territories where we operate you have to understand the local legislation and business ethos and that continues to be our strength.

“We also strive to develop strong local partnerships and our desire to really know the places that we are working in.”

He adds: “Our aim is to continue to move the business forward by nurturing and attracting top talent. The result is a great team delivering great projects in all these territories.

“As a multi-disciplinary practice, we are able to draw on a wide skills base and resources for our clients and that is what gives us the edge.”

In Gambia, FBW played a major role in a project to upgrade facilities at a leading medical research centre.

It was appointed as architect and design, structural and MEP engineer on the upgrade in Fajara. The centre is operated by the Medical Research Council UK (MRC) and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

The project was FBW’s first major West African design project.
